We have 27 teams in the first round draw with 9 teams having byes. League Champions Bamber Bridge Utd are at home to Blackburn Sunday Champions Mill Hill FC. There is only one all-LSFL clash, AFC Lytham (PR) v BAE Warton. New clubs FC Friargate, Lions and Ashton Villa MHFC have been blessed with home ties. This is the premier competition for Sunday league teams in the County and the LFA Sunday Trophy has been won by teams from this League on no less than 16 occasions. Thursday August 11, 2022 Bobby Madley at our pre-season Referees Meeting![]() Championship referee Bobby Madley gave an excellent presentation on identifying and dealing with Serious Foul Play at the LFSL Referees Meeting at LFA HQ on Wednesday 10 August 2022. He illustrated his talk with several video clips of incidents, which provoked some healthy discussion and an interesting range of views.
LFA Referees Development Officer Shaun Taylor advised the meeting on promotion pathways for referees and said that he was always available to help and could be contact via his LFA e-mail. Referees Manager Mark Moore outlined the requirements for the coming season. Monday August 1, 2022 Lostock Hall book Wembley Date![]() Lostock Hall FC from our Premier Division, playing under the name of their sponsor The Wishing Well, 1 Brownedge Road, Lostock Hall PR5 5AA, have reached the BT Sport Pub Cup Final to be played at Wembley on Friday 18 November 2022 and the game will be shown live on BT Sport.
A total of 64 teams from across the UK entered the competition with the Lostock lads reaching the Final by beating teams from the North of England, Scotland and Wales. The competition was based on a Europa style tournament, the club won all their 6 league games which were played at Manchester City’s Etihad training campus.
As winners of the North section, the lads will meet the winners of the South section in the final at the home of English football, Wembley Stadium on Friday 18th November 2022. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any footballer at any level, and an amazing opportunity for all involved at the club. The Lancashire Sunday Football League wish the Sunday Champions of Lancashire, Lostock Hall (Wishing Well) FC the very best of luck in the final and we hope they enjoy the day and make it an unforgettable experience. Saturday July 23, 2022 Challenge Cup Draw for Season 2022-23![]() The draw for preliminary round of this seasons Syndicate Trust Challenge Cup has been made by Shaun Taylor, Referees Development Officer at the Lancashire Football Association.
The ties are due to be played on Sunday 14th August 2022, kick off 11.00am. Teams losing in the preliminary round, or first round of the Challenge Cup will be eligible to play in the Presidents Cup. The Lancashire Sunday League encourages all referees to become members of the Referees Association and it is League policy to give priority of appointments to those referees who are an RA member.
Preston Referees Society is based at Preston North End Football Club, Sir Tom Finney Way, Preston, PR1 6RU, they meet on the first Monday of each month during the football season and everyone is welcome to attend their meetings. The meetings start at 7.30pm and usually finish around 9.00pm.
